Privacy policy

This policy explains how Freedom Energy Solutions NSW P/L ATF Barrit Family Trust, ABN 93 684 424 393, trading as Freedom Energy Solutions (“we”, “us”), collects, uses and looks after your personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect the information we need to quote, install and support your solar or battery system. Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:

  • your name, email address, phone number and postcode when you use the quote form on this website or call us;
  • your property address and details about your roof, switchboard and site access, so we can design and install your system;
  • details from your electricity bills, so we can size a system on your actual usage; and
  • information required for rebate and connection paperwork, such as the details needed to assign Small Scale Technology Certificates (STCs) and to notify your electricity retailer and distributor.

We do not collect payment card details through this website.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare your quote.
  • To design, install, connect and service your system.
  • To lodge rebate, STC and grid connection paperwork on your behalf.
  • To contact you about your job, and to provide aftercare and warranty support.
  • With your consent, to send you occasional updates or offers. You can opt out at any time by telling us, and we will stop.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only disclose it where it is needed to do the job you have asked us to do:

  • government bodies and registered agents involved in rebates and STC assignment;
  • your electricity retailer and distributor, for meter and grid connection paperwork;
  • equipment manufacturers, where needed to register or claim a product warranty; and
  • finance providers, only if you ask us to refer you for finance.

How we store it

Your information is stored in the business systems we use to run Freedom Energy Solutions, with access limited to the people who need it to do their work. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires, for example for warranty and tax records.

Website data

Like most websites, this site collects standard analytics data about how visitors use it, so we can see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. It is not used to personally identify you and we do not sell it.

We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to do this. These services set cookies in your browser and send usage data, including a truncated version of your IP address, to Google. Google’s own privacy terms govern what they do with it. If you would rather not be measured, you can install Google’s opt out browser add on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Anything you type into a quote form or one of our calculators is only sent to us when you press submit, and goes to our own systems rather than to an advertising platform.

Access, correction and complaints
