Its SBR and SBH batteries pair with Sungrow’s own SH hybrid inverters into a DC coupled system with backup that switches over in under 10ms. Modular LFP storage in 3.2kWh steps, from 6.4 to 25.6kWh usable per unit (2 to 8 modules). Each module weighs 33kg, and Sungrow describes it as plug and play with no cables needed between battery modules. It suits single phase homes that want to size storage precisely to their overnight load, and it pairs with SH RS single phase and SH T three phase hybrid inverters.
The bigger sibling: 5.0kWh modules stacking from 15 to 40kWh usable per unit (3 to 8 modules), with up to 4 units in parallel for 160kWh total. Continuous power runs from 10.56kW on the SBH150 to 28.16kW on the SBH400, which is the highest published continuous output of any residential battery we install. Built for larger homes, three phase supply and future EV loads.

Sungrow’s Australian warranty (V8.0) runs 10 years from installation, or 10 years and 6 months from manufacture, whichever comes first, and guarantees at least 70 percent of initial capacity over that period. For normal daily self consumption and backup use, cycles are unlimited. For other applications, throughput caps apply per model, from 17.92MWh on the SBR064 up to 112MWh on the SBH400.
Two honest footnotes we always mention. Warranty conditions include monitoring on iSolarCloud and pairing with a compatible Sungrow inverter, both standard on our installs. And if you extend a stack later, the added modules inherit the original warranty start date, so it pays to think about final size at design time. Sigenergy answers with tighter integration, IP66 against IP55, an in stack EV DC charger, and 0ms Gateway switchover against Sungrow’s sub 10ms. Most households never notice 10 milliseconds; sensitive equipment sometimes does.
Against Fox ESS: Fox ESS undercuts on price, stacks larger (to 83.86kWh on the CQ6) and offers 12 years on the CQ6 against Sungrow’s 10. Sungrow counters with its longer manufacturing record, the deep SH inverter ecosystem, and the SBH’s published continuous power figures where the Fox battery output depends on the paired inverter.
